Crypto Stocks Slide as Market Braces for CLARITY Act Vote, Fed Rate Decision

NEWS | 2026-09-15

Crypto and blockchain-related companies saw widespread declines in premarket trading on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bitcoin fell nearly 3% as the market closely watched an upcoming congressional vote on the CLARITY Act and the Federal Reserve’s rate decision scheduled for Wednesday.

Bitcoin dropped 2.9% to $76,833.83, while Ethereum fell 3.8% to $2,471.74.

The CLARITY Act aims to establish a unified regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies. Previously, the bill’s legislative process stalled amid concerns that it lacked sufficient provisions on ethics and combating illicit finance.

Crypto exchange Coinbase Global fell 4.7% in premarket trading.

Crypto mining companies were not spared either. Shares of Riot Platforms, MARA Holdings, Hut 8, and Bit Digital all fell between 1.6% and 2.2%.
